ARTWORKS/KONSTVERK

Art works from my personal practice.

My most recent works explore ways approach monumentality in textile without sacrificing craftsmanship. Even the smallest unit expands in scale, from the thickness of the thread and wefts to the size of each knot.

I’m more interested in the weaving process than the end result, and always try to help the pieces reflect that. Simple weaving structures accentuate materiality, and when the pieces begin to fold in on themselves, the back- and undersides of weaving--normally hidden--are exposed, offering a look at the fundamental essence of the weaving and the weaver.

Hoagie in the Park is a commissioned work for a collector in New York. It is a part of the series that began with Lucky U, in which I explore different ways of making a weaving in one piece that can be sculpted after cutting down.
